What keeps you excited in the studio? Witnessing how my artwork grows and continues.
Looking back at your trajectory as an artist, how would you say your work has developed?
It gets more focused, grows, expands, and better everyday. It has been a very straight trajectory but I never imagined the direction that it has taken and developed.
What role do you think the artist has in today’s society? Marshall McLuhan said “to look to artists to see where the culture is going.”
What’s the most important advice you could give to an aspiring artist? Keep working, having no fear, don’t censor yourself, and try all your ideas without prior judgement.
Does age matter in art? Why or why not? It shouldn’t. Experience does change how one approaches what is art and how one makes art.
What can we look forward to from you next? More and better!
Is there anything else you would like to share about being an artist later in life? I have more clarity about my art making and the maturity to understand it.
