Malka Nedivi was born in Rehovot, Israel as an only child to parents who survived the Holocaust and emigrated from Poland. In 1980 she moved to Los Angeles, CA with her husband and son. Her interest in making sculptures began with ceramics in the early 90’s. She developed her ideas beyond ceramics and experimented with different materials. Her figures began to take form in large scale sculptures and collage paintings on wood and canvas.
Her work has been featured at several galleries including the 2013 LA Art Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center and at Hollywood’s BOA Gallery for a One Woman Show, and she was chosen as one of the ten Southern California Contemporary Artists from Israel at the Barnsdall Park Municipal Gallery in Los Angeles. She has also recently directed a feature documentary about her relationship with her mother. Malka Nedivi currently lives in Woodland Hills, CA and continues to develop her body of work, and expressing her emotions through her art.
